Inkario is a landmark album in Andean music history — the first recording of its kind in over 40 years. Peruvian coloratura soprano Sylvia Falcón revives the rare and breathtaking style known as Andean Coloratura (Lírica Andina), a fusion of classical operatic singing with the traditional music of the Peruvian Andes.
Inspired by legendary soprano Yma Súmac and other pioneering Andean divas, Falcón delivers 11 stunning tracks — including "Kuntur Kuntur," "Wifala," "Paras," and a deeply moving rendition of the iconic "El Cóndor Pasa." Several tracks were recorded at sacred Incan sites in Cusco, including the temples of Qorikancha, Qenqo, and Sacsayhuamán.
A must-have for fans of world music, Latin classical, and Andean culture. The CD includes a deluxe booklet where Falcón explains the history of Andean Coloratura and its key artists.
